Excitement in the boxing fraternity as the Ministry of Sports Development confirms it readiness to seal it partnership with Yucateco Boxing Promotions on talent discovery.
The Minister Of Sports Development Senator John Owan Enoh made this known at the recently held Yucateco Boxing Lifetime Achievements Merit Award in Lagos. Enoh, in his address at the event said the process of cementing a groundbreaking partnership between the Sports Ministry and Yucateco Boxing Promotions is at its final stages.
He said: ” i am pleased to announce that the Ministry of Sports will be signing a groundbreaking partnership with Yucateco Boxing promotions in the coming days, this partnership is in line with my agenda on talent discovery and exposure”
” Yucateco promotions has a functional model based on all they have done thus far, and we hope to key-into the existing structure by leveraging on their financial might and other technicalities, this we hope to perfect before the commencement of season two; of the boxing league”
Chairman CEO Yucateco Boxing Promotions Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, said his outfit is open to working with the Ministry of Sports to change the phase and narratives of boxing in Nigeria.

According to Imadu, the National open trial for season two of the Yucateco boxing league will hold from Friday May 24th to Sunday 26th at the Brai Ayonote Boxing Gymnasium National stadium Surulere Lagos.
