Former Nigerian champions, Rivers Hoopers, have touched down in Lagos to take part in the highly anticipated second edition of the Louis Edem Invitational Basketball Championship.

Set to tip off from Sunday, August 27 to September 2, the tournament is slated to unfold on the court of the Indoor Sports Hall at the National Stadium, Lagos.

In the inaugural edition held six months ago, the four-time champions of the Nigerian basketball league faced a tough challenge, falling 57-67 to the reigning Nigeria league champions, Kwara Falcons.

This time around, Rivers Hoopers find themselves pitted against strong contenders in Group B, alongside Comets, Ogun Warlord, Spintex Knights from Ghana, and Energie Cotonou from Benin Republic.

The KingsMen will grace the court for their opening game against Energie Cotonou on August 27 at 3:30 pm.

  • August 27, 3:30 pm: Hoopers vs. Energie
  • August 28, 12:30 pm: Hoopers vs. Spintex Knights
  • August 30, 8:00 am: Hoopers vs. Comets
  • August 31, 12:30 pm: Hoopers vs. Ogun Warlord
