National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, *Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa* has celebrated the former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi on the posthumous 60th birthday.

“Mama Nigeria, as FFCN Top Brass fondly called in Cameroon describes the time the Big Boss spent in the national team as successful era and charges the present team to emulate the former handler.

“On behalf of members and Executives Football Fans Club of Nigeria, I celebrate our late Stephen Keshi on the occasion of his posthumous 60th birthday. He played five nations cup and one world cup. He was the youngest player to captain the Senior National team at the age of 20. He was a brother, a friend and an hero we can never forget in anal of Nigerian football”


Keshi who won the Africa Cup of Nations as a player and coach in 1994 and 2013 consecutively remains one of the heroes not only in Nigeria but the entire continent

Big Boss, as the late Keshi was fondly called, also won silver at the Africa Cup of Nations in 1984 and 1988 as well as a bronze medal in 1992.

“Keshi was one of the greatest icons of the Africa Cup of Nations as a player and coach in Nigeria. He would have been 60 on Sunday if he was still alive

“FFCN are here celebrating Coach Keshi Posthumously and may he continue to rest in peace”

Most of his team are presently with the present Super Eagles. In fact coach, Augustine Eguavoen, was his team mates in 1988, 1992 and was his assistant captain in 1994 while the goalkeeper coach, Alloy Agu, was in the 1990, 1992 and 1994 teams.

The Tunisia ’94 Nation’s cup winner was born in Azare, Bauchi State in 1962 and passed on in Benin City, Edo State in June 2016.
