As part of its efforts to develop sports facilities in the country. The Executive Director of one of Africa's leading construction company Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Ltd, Ebi Egbe has urged sports stakeholders in Nigeria to consult with true professionals to set a new trajectory for sports infrastructure in the nation.

In an exclusive interview with Sportsville, Egbe who is renowned for his expertise in football surfaces and a plethora of other sports facilities,
decries the role of interlopers in the industry as a major setback in achieving globally accepted sports facilities to develop younger athletes for Nigeria.

In his words: "The sports facilities construction industry in Nigeria should be left for true professionals if we must achieve exceptional and sustainable playing surfaces and other world class sports infrastructures in the country"

" Those who are into football administration and management should not become sports facilities contractors overnight because they want to made extra money for themselves, the activities of these interlopers keeps holding us back and i will urged the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) and other critical stakeholders to put an end to it so we can achieve the desired success". Egbe added.

The Monimichelle SFC boss has made his mark with the construction of several sports edifice in Africa including the famous Remo Stars stadium playing surface in Ogun State, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena pitch in Onikan Lagos, the top notch turf at the Enyimba stadium in Aba, the ultra modern tartan tracks at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa Bayelsa State, as well as the Muhammadu Dikko stadium in Katsina state, just to mention but a few.

Egbe who has received several accolades for his continued support for several grassroots sports projects across Nigeria through his company Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Ltd, further revealed the issues around the Agege stadium in Lagos which he started the rehabilitation process before it was taken over by some political contractors who latter abandoned the project.

" I moved into site at the Agege stadium without any upfront payment from the Lagos state government, his excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu saw the great job we did at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena and he asked us to commenced the rehabilitation of the Agege stadium but some political contractors took over the job after we have cleared the drains and removed the bad turf only to abandon the project thereafter".

The comatose state of several State, Federal, and Private sports facilities in Nigeria have been a plague in talents development in the country. The Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo remains the only CAF and FIFA approved Stadium in Nigeria as at today.
