Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are through to the round of 16 at the ongoing FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Argentina after an impressive 2-0 victory over Italy in their second match of Group D at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas on Wednesday.

Striker Salim Fugor headed Nigeria ahead on the hour mark before Jude Stanley made sure of the win in added time.

The win means Ladan Bosso’s side are now top of Group D with six points from two games.

The Flying Eagles will face Brazil in their last group match this weekend. Nigeria will progress to the round of 16 as group winners if they avoid defeat against the South Americans.
